Roland RD 2000 PHA-50 Plastic + Wood Hybrid Keys

Roland PHA50 action

PHA-50, which is Roland’s best key action yet, is installed in RD 2000. The combination of plastic and wood makes the RD 2000 look more natural, The escapement feature is integrated in the PHA-50, which will make players feel the action of an actual piano, because the wood parts will vibrate. It also feels natural when sliding the keys.

*Escapement –  the mechanism that allows the hammer to clear the string after striking, so that the string can vibrate (TheFreeDictionary).

The hammers of grand piano are positioned horizontally and therefore get affected by gravity directly, which enables faster key recovery. Hammers of upright pianos are positioned vertically with springs (jack).

Roland F20 Review & Best Price

Roland F20

f-20-cb_angle_ipad_gal

Roland digital piano company is a brand name electronic instrument firm acknowledged by the world.
Roland pianos already have numerous mania fans.
Roland produces piano, drum, organ, accordion and even guitars.
Not only the instrument accessories, but Roland also produces instrument speakers called BOSS.
Previous purchasers of Roland digital pianos usually become re-purchasers; that’s how much precise, durable and technical Roland products are.
Roland digital pianos are not only recognized in America but in the world as well.

Roland technology and functions are already at a high level. At this moment, some people say that the only company that is making Performance Pro Lines is Rolands. Why? If you purchase and use it for yourself, you might find out why many people prefer Rolands.

Bold declarations like ‘Rolands are the best product.’ can even be stated.
However, Roland products are expensive.
When purchasing a piano, many people have their budget from 1000 to 1500.
Some people even look for digital pianos under 1000 but usually people with piano experience would prefer between 1000-1500 for better touch and sound.

Most Roland products cost over 1200.
There aren’t many Roland products that you can purchase lower than 1500; even if there are, they might not be at top quality and technology.

Roland F20 is priced at $799.00 and it has a single sustain pedal.
If you would like to have a digital piano that has best similarity to an acoustic piano when it comes to touch and sound at the price below 1000, then please consider the Roland F20.

I would recommend Roland F20 for those who wanted a Roland but were stumbled on the price.
Roland F-20 is a portable, so speaker might not be the top line but it has the best touch action system as a Roland.
Roland F-20 has many functions so it has received many attention and acknowledgement.

f-20-cb_top_galRoland F20 is a portable digital piano.
You can also buy a matching cabinet stand separately so it can also become a home style digital piano.

Sound — “Super Natural Sound” is a symbolic slogan of Roland.
Nowadays, most Rolands will have this slogan ‘super natural sound’ marked on them.

You might think it means to have the most natural piano sound, but actually it means that it has the most similar touch and responsiveness as an acoustic piano.
Performance differences in strength control can be as noticeable with Rolands, this can be both strength and weakness of Roland product.
This means that digital pianos can be played easier than acoustic piano.
However, ‘super natural sound’ in Roland products can express even the miniscule details just like the grand pianos. Honestly, Roland’s ‘super natural sounds’ expresses even the smallest details so it can be recognized as a harder instrument.
Thus, most musicians prefer to use Rolands.

roland f20Roland F20 has the Polyphony 128 which expresses stability when playing.
Roland F20 has total of 35 different sounds including 5 different piano sounds and 32 rhythms.
Roland F20 has speaker of 6X6=12 Watts thus, Roland F-20 has a small but great speaker and Roland F20 can be a great home style digital piano.
Roland piano recognized to have rougher sound but Roland F20 actually emulates the acoustic piano sound of hammer hitting the string as well as the metal sound.

The sound of Roland F20 is so real that listeners of artificial sound of digital pianos might misunderstand.
However, listeners of acoustic piano will be astonished of the precise sound.
Roland has the most realistic sound that usually people end up re-purchasing.

Touch—- Roland pianos will have different levels of touch.
Roland F20 is an Ivory –feel G Keyboard which is at lower level, but there are difference compared to other pianos within price range.
The thick keys are made for ivory feel and you can feel the dynamic precision from feeling the escapements (‘Click’ Feeling).
If you are a former acoustic user, then you will love the action of the Roland F-20. Roland F20 is able to express even the small details of the touch from its keyboard.
The ivory feel of the keys can give user the feel of prestigious acoustic grand piano.
The keys can also prevent slipping by absorbing the sweats on the fingers.
Roland F20 has the best digital piano action compared to other digital pianos within price range.

Function —-

  1. Sound | includes 6 Piano sounds, 7 electronic piano sounds, 22 other instrument sounds: total of 35 instrument sounds and 32 rhythms.
  2. Duet Mode | You can divide the keyboard into two separate keyboards with the same chromatic scale. This is will become similar to playing two different pianos; it is fit for performance or a lesson between a student and a teacher. Roland F20 allows change of left side volume and right side volume separately.duetmode
  3. Split | You can play two different instrument sound on each hand within a keyboard. For example, left hand can play vibratone, right hand can play piano; it gives effect of one person playing two different instrument. Again, Roland F20 allows change of left side volume and right side volume separately.duetmode
  1. Other items include Record function, Transpose function, USB TO HOST and more. One unique thing about Roland F20 is that you can use Wireless USB function. You can wirelessly use Smartphone and Pad Apps provided by Roland.
